What does Leviticus 21:18 mean?
This passage reflects the priestly laws of ancient Israel, where physical wholeness was required for those serving in the temple. The restriction wasn't meant as a judgment on people with disabilities, but rather expressed the belief that what approached God's altar needed to be unblemished, much like the sacrificial animals themselves.
