Leviticus 19:15

What does Leviticus 19:15 mean?
God is calling for a kind of fairness that goes both ways. It's easy to think justice means favoring those who are struggling, but this verse reminds us that true justice means the same thing for everyone, regardless of their circumstances. Whether someone is poor and deserves our sympathy or wealthy and has influence, the measure we use should be the same. This doesn't mean ignoring real hardship or pretending everyone starts from the same place. Rather, it's saying that when we're in a position to make decisions about others, we need to set aside both pity and intimidation and simply ask: what is right? What actually happened? What does fairness demand here? That kind of clarity and consistency is what "righteousness" means in this context, and it's the foundation of a community where people can trust one another.
