When someone entered a house that had been sealed off due to mold or mildew—what the Bible calls leprosy of buildings—they became ritually unclean and had to wait until sunset before participating in community life or worship. This wasn't about actual infection (the person could be perfectly healthy), but about maintaining clear boundaries between what was set apart for inspection and everyday life. The underlying principle shows how seriously ancient Israel took contamination and the need for careful discernment. If you went into a quarantined space, you accepted the consequences of that choice, at least until the day reset at evening.
