“Then the priest shall put some of the oil that is in his hand on the tip of the right ear of him who is to be cleansed, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot, on the place of the blood of the trespass offering.”
What does Leviticus 14:28 mean?
In this moment of ritual cleansing, the priest is anointing specific parts of the person's body with oil after they've been healed from serious illness or skin disease. These three points (ear, thumb, and toe) represent the whole person: what we hear, what we do, and where we go.
