What does Leviticus 13:56 mean?
When a priest examined clothing or skin that had shown signs of disease or mold, and washing had made the mark fade away, he would remove that affected section entirely. This was a practical health measure in ancient Israel, meant to stop infection from spreading to the rest of the garment or body. The passage reflects a real concern: sometimes partial contamination can be dealt with by removing just the problem area rather than destroying everything. There's something hopeful in that permission, even within rules about illness.
