Leviticus 13:33
“then he shall be shaved, but he shall not shave the itch; and the priest shall shut him up who has the itch seven more days.”
What does Leviticus 13:33 mean?
When someone had a skin condition that might be contagious, the priest would examine them carefully over time to see if it was truly spreading or healing. Here, the person is told to shave their hair to keep the area clean and visible, but to leave the affected spot itself untouched so the priest can observe it closely. After shaving, they'd be isolated for another week so the community could be protected while the condition was monitored.
