Leviticus 11:2

What does Leviticus 11:2 mean?
God is giving Moses instructions about which animals the Israelites could eat, establishing what we call "clean" and "unclean" animals. This wasn't arbitrary, random rules, but part of the covenant laws that shaped daily life and reminded people they were set apart as God's people. Every time someone prepared a meal, these guidelines brought their faith into the ordinary moments of the day. For many communities today, these ancient food laws remain spiritually significant, while others see them as specific to that time and place, but either way, the underlying message is clear: God cares about how we live and invites us to be intentional about the choices we make.
