Lamentations 4:14
“They wander as blind men in the streets. They are polluted with blood, So that men can’t touch their garments.”
What does Lamentations 4:14 mean?
The prophet is describing how the city's spiritual leaders have become morally blind, unable to see or guide others toward what's right. Their hands are stained with innocent blood, a consequence of their own corruption and cruelty during Jerusalem's darkest hours. The image of people being too defiled to touch even physically captures how completely they've separated themselves from community and dignity.
