What does Lamentations 4:12 mean?
When Jerusalem fell to Babylon in 586 BC, it shattered something people thought was impossible. The city had seemed invincible, protected by God's presence and ancient walls, so when enemy soldiers actually breached those gates, it was almost unthinkable.
