What does Lamentations 3:24 mean?

When everything else falls away, God himself becomes enough. The writer of Lamentations lived through the destruction of Jerusalem, experiencing loss and grief at every turn, yet still claimed that having God's presence and promise mattered more than any earthly possession or comfort. That single conviction, held firm even in darkness, becomes the ground for genuine hope, not the false kind that pretends suffering isn't real, but the kind that trusts God's faithfulness will endure beyond it. This is an especially powerful statement because the person saying it hasn't gotten their life back to normal, hasn't received explanations for their pain, hasn't regained what was lost, yet chooses to anchor themselves to God anyway.
