What does Lamentations 1:19 mean?
Jerusalem is broken and desperate, calling out to the nations and allies she once trusted, only to find them indifferent or hostile in her moment of crisis. The priests and leaders, who should have been shepherding the people through this catastrophe, were so consumed with their own survival that they had no strength left to help others. There's a deep loneliness here, the kind that comes when everyone around you is too overwhelmed or self-focused to show up.
