What does Lamentations 1:15 mean?
The prophet Jeremiah is describing Jerusalem's devastation after the Babylonian conquest, using raw, painful language to express how completely God allowed the city's defenses to crumble. The "mighty men" and "young men" represent the strength that once protected the city, now rendered powerless, while the image of treading grapes in a wine press captures the violent crushing of what was precious and vulnerable.
