Judges 8:3
“God has delivered into your hand the princes of Midian, Oreb and Zeeb! What was I able to do in comparison with you?” Then their anger was abated toward him, when he had said that.”
What does Judges 8:3 mean?
Gideon says this to the men of Ephraim, who were upset that he hadn't invited them to fight in the battle against Midian from the beginning. Rather than defending himself or getting angry back, Gideon gives them genuine credit for their crucial role in the victory, specifically for capturing two important Midianite leaders. His humble response acknowledges their contribution and makes them feel valued instead of left out. Sometimes the wisest way through conflict isn't to prove you were right, but to recognize what others have done well and let them know it matters.
