Judges 7:25

They took the two princes of Midian, Oreb and Zeeb. They killed Oreb at Oreb’s rock, and Zeeb they killed at Zeeb’s wine press; and pursued Midian. Then they brought the heads of Oreb and Zeeb to Gideon beyond the Jordan.

What does Judges 7:25 mean?

After Gideon's small army defeated the much larger Midianite force, the Israelites chased down the enemy leaders Oreb and Zeeb and killed them at two separate locations (the rock and wine press that would later bear their names). This was the final blow to Midian's power, ending a period of oppression that had lasted seven years. The detail about bringing the heads to Gideon shows how completely the threat had been eliminated, and it's a moment where the underdog victory is fully realized. It's a reminder that sometimes our greatest struggles can be overcome not by our own strength, but by trust and determination.
