Judges 5:11
“Far from the noise of archers, in the places of drawing water, there they will rehearse Yahweh’s righteous acts, the righteous acts of his rule in Israel. “Then Yahweh’s people went down to the gates.”
What does Judges 5:11 mean?
This verse celebrates how a military victory became a story worth telling throughout the community. After Deborah and Barak defeated Sisera's army, ordinary people gathered at wells and water sources (the social centers of ancient life) to retell what God had done, spreading the news of His faithfulness to everyone who came to draw water.
