Judges 2:21
“I also will no longer drive out any of the nations that Joshua left when he died from before them;”
What does Judges 2:21 mean?
God is describing a shift in how he'll relate to Israel going forward. Instead of continuing to actively push out the surrounding nations as he did during Joshua's conquest, he'll step back and let Israel face their neighbors directly. This becomes a test of faithfulness, since maintaining their land now depends on their own obedience and strength rather than divine intervention doing the heavy lifting. It's both a consequence for their unfaithfulness and an opportunity for them to learn that genuine trust in God matters more than having everything handed to them.
