Judges 14:6

What does Judges 14:6 mean?
Samson encounters a lion on his way to meet a woman, and in that moment, God's Spirit empowers him with extraordinary strength. He tears the lion apart with his bare hands, as easily as someone might rip apart a small animal. What's striking is that Samson keeps this incredible display of power secret, telling no one in his family what happened, which hints at a troubling pattern: he's acting on impulse and hiding things rather than seeking wisdom or counsel from those who love him. This passage sets up Samson's whole story, showing both his gifting and his character flaws. He's chosen by God and given real power to protect his people, but he immediately misuses it in service of personal desires (he's headed toward a woman he just saw), and he lacks the humility to be honest about what he's doing. His strength without wisdom becomes his tragic undoing.
