What does Judges 13:23 mean?
Manoah and his wife have just encountered an angel who announced they would have a son (who would become Samson). Manoah was afraid because they'd seen God's messenger, wondering if this meant death was coming, since seeing God was thought to be dangerous. His wife gently reminds him that God wouldn't have accepted their offering, revealed these plans, and spoken such promises if he intended to harm them. She's offering a kind of spiritual logic: God's actions reveal his intentions. When someone receives your worship and shares good news about the future, it doesn't make sense to interpret that as a sign of death.
