What does Judges 1:2 mean?

After the death of Joshua, the Israelites needed direction about how to continue conquering the land God had promised them. The Lord tells them that Judah, one of the twelve tribes, should lead the way, assuring them that victory is already secured in God's hands. This wasn't a guarantee that fighting wouldn't be difficult, but rather a promise that God was going before them and the outcome was already decided. It's a reminder that when we're facing uncertainty about our next steps, we can move forward with courage because God has already seen what lies ahead.
