Joshua 8:7
“and you shall rise up from the ambush, and take possession of the city; for Yahweh your God will deliver it into your hand.”
What does Joshua 8:7 mean?
God is reassuring Joshua before the battle of Ai, reminding him that the military strategy will work because the Lord fights alongside them. The promise isn't that victory comes without effort or planning, but that when God's people move forward with courage and obedience, they can trust the outcome to God's hands. This speaks to something many of us experience in our own struggles: we do our part (the ambush, the effort, the courage) while God does what only he can do (deliver the victory). It's a beautiful picture of partnership, where our faithfulness meets his faithfulness.
