Joshua 6:1

What does Joshua 6:1 mean?
The city of Jericho was locked down in fear, completely sealed off because the Israelites had arrived at their borders. The people inside knew they were facing an approaching army, so they barricaded themselves in, hoping their walls would protect them from what was coming. This sets the stage for what becomes one of the Bible's most famous stories: a situation that looks humanly impossible, where military conquest seems to require brute force and conventional siege tactics. The closed gates of Jericho represent a wall that human strength alone cannot breach, preparing us to see what God can do when His people trust Him instead.
