What does Joshua 22:20 mean?
When Joshua reminds the eastern tribes about Achan's sin, he's pointing to a moment when one person's disobedience brought consequences on the whole community. Achan had secretly taken treasures from Jericho that were supposed to be completely devoted to God, and this hidden sin weakened Israel in battle and cost innocent lives. Joshua uses this memory as a serious warning, not to shame anyone, but to show how deeply interconnected the community was.
