“Beyond the Jordan at Jericho eastward, they assigned Bezer in the wilderness in the plain out of the tribe of Reuben, Ramoth in Gilead out of the tribe of Gad, and Golan in Bashan out of the tribe of Manasseh.”
What does Joshua 20:8 mean?
God instructed Israel to set up cities of refuge on both sides of the Jordan River so that anyone who accidentally killed someone could flee to safety and receive a fair trial, rather than being hunted down by the victim's family seeking revenge.
