What does Joshua 2:21 mean?
Rahab, a woman living in Jericho, has just made a dangerous deal with Israelite spies: she'll hide them from her own king's soldiers, and in exchange, when the Israelites attack the city, her family will be spared if they stay inside her home marked by a scarlet cord. This verse shows her sealing that covenant and taking immediate action, tying the cord as a visible sign of her commitment. What's striking is how seriously both parties treated this promise. Rahab didn't hesitate or second-guess herself, even though helping enemy spies could have cost her everything. She acted as if the agreement was already binding. For those of us trying to live with integrity, there's something worth noticing here: genuine trust leads to action.
