Joshua 19:24
“The fifth lot came out for the tribe of the children of Asher according to their families.”
What does Joshua 19:24 mean?
The Israelites were dividing up the promised land among the twelve tribes, and this verse marks Asher's turn in that distribution. Each tribe received a specific territory based on their family groups, and the casting of lots was how they determined who got which area. This was considered a fair and God-guided way to allocate the land so that everyone had a place to call home. For Asher, their inheritance included coastal areas in what is now northern Israel, land that would sustain them for generations to come.
