What does Joshua 15:33 mean?

This verse is part of a detailed list describing the towns and cities that belonged to the tribe of Judah after the Israelites settled in Canaan. Eshtaol and Zorah were real places in the lower hill country of Judah, areas that would have been familiar to the original readers of Joshua as part of their own homeland. These kinds of boundary and possession lists might seem dry to us now, but they mattered deeply to ancient Israel. They established who belonged where, settled disputes, and affirmed that God had actually given the promised land to his people as he said he would. When you're reading through a passage like this, you're looking at ancient proof that Israel had a real claim to their territory, not just wishful thinking.
