What does Joshua 12:6 mean?
After the Israelites conquered the land east of the Jordan River, Moses distributed that territory to three tribes who had chosen to settle there rather than cross over into Canaan proper. This verse summarizes how those eastern lands became the inheritance of Reuben, Gad, and half of Manasseh, fulfilling what Moses had promised them earlier in their wilderness journey.
