What does John 9:13 mean?
After the man receives his sight by Jesus's healing, he becomes a subject of intense scrutiny. The Pharisees were the religious authorities of the time, and they're brought into the story now because a miraculous healing on the Sabbath (the Jewish day of rest) was considered work, which violated their interpretation of God's law. What looks like genuine help and restoration to ordinary people looks like a problem to those focused on rule-keeping. This moment marks the beginning of a difficult journey for the healed man, caught between the authorities questioning how this could have happened and his own growing understanding of who Jesus is.
