John 7:6
“Jesus therefore said to them, “My time has not yet come, but your time is always ready.”
What does John 7:6 mean?
Jesus is teaching His brothers (who don't yet believe in Him) about timing and purpose. When they encourage Him to go to Jerusalem and perform miracles publicly, He's saying His actions aren't driven by their suggestions or by the world's schedule, but by His Father's direction. His "time" refers to God's specific plan for when and how He'll reveal Himself. The contrast He draws is simple but profound: their time is "always ready" because they live by the world's ordinary rhythms and expectations, but His operates on a different calendar entirely. He's inviting them (and us) to consider whether we're following our own agendas or watching for God's purposes. Sometimes waiting, rather than jumping at every opportunity, is the wiser path.
