What does John 7:37 mean?

On the final day of a major Jewish festival, Jesus made this bold invitation to anyone feeling spiritually parched or empty. His image of thirst and drinking is about our deepest longings, the things we try to fill with other pursuits but never quite satisfy us. When he invites people to come and drink from him, he's offering himself as the source of meaning, peace, and life that actually sustains us. It's an open invitation, not reserved for the religious elite or the perfectly prepared, but for anyone aware enough to recognize their own spiritual hunger.
