John 6:69
“We have come to believe and know that you are the Christ, the Son of the living God.””
What does John 6:69 mean?
Peter speaks these words after many of Jesus's followers have turned away, confused or offended by his teaching. When Jesus asks if the twelve will also leave, Peter responds with this declaration, combining both belief and personal experience—"believe and know" isn't redundant here, but rather shows conviction built on both faith and time spent with Jesus. He's saying, in essence, we've tested this, we've walked with you, and we've come to understand who you truly are.
