John 6:29
“Jesus answered them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent.””
What does John 6:29 mean?
Jesus is answering people who just asked him what "works" or deeds God requires from them. Instead of listing rules or tasks, he redirects them entirely: the deepest work you can do is simply to trust him. He's not saying belief costs nothing or requires no effort, but rather that genuine trust in him is what God actually cares about most. It's a reminder that faith itself is the foundation, not something you earn your way into through perfect behavior or endless striving.
