What does John 5:11 mean?
The man born blind (actually, the man at the pool of Bethesda who had been sick for 38 years) is defending himself to the religious leaders who are upset that he carried his mat on the Sabbath. He's saying: the one who healed me, the one with the power to restore my body, is the same one who told me to pick up my mat and walk. He's essentially asking, "If someone has the authority to heal me, doesn't he also have the authority to tell me what to do on the Sabbath?" It's a simple but powerful point about following the one who has shown you mercy. When someone does something transformative in your life, their word carries weight, and their instructions deserve to be trusted and followed, even when others question it.
