John 4:51
“As he was now going down, his servants met him and reported, saying “Your child lives!””
What does John 4:51 mean?
A royal official had desperately asked Jesus to heal his dying son from a distance, and Jesus simply said the boy would live. As the man headed home, still trusting in Jesus's word even though he hadn't witnessed anything miraculous yet, his servants came running toward him with news: your child is alive. The timing is striking, because later the official would discover that his son's fever broke at the exact moment Jesus spoke those healing words, even though they were miles apart. What makes this moment so powerful is that the father had to choose belief before he saw any evidence, and his faith was rewarded not just with his son's recovery, but with confirmation that Jesus's word is reliable and real.
