John 14:26
“But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things, and will remind you of all that I said to you.”
What does John 14:26 mean?
Jesus is promising his disciples that after he returns to the Father, God will send the Holy Spirit as a constant companion and guide. This Spirit won't introduce entirely new ideas but will help them understand and remember everything Jesus taught them, bringing clarity and wisdom when they need it most. The promise extends beyond those first disciples to anyone who follows Jesus. When you face confusion about faith, struggle to understand God's ways, or feel lost in your circumstances, the Spirit works to illuminate truth and bring Jesus's teachings to mind in fresh, relevant ways. It's a deeply comforting assurance that you're not left alone to figure everything out by yourself.
