What does John 13:22 mean?
Jesus has just announced that one of his closest friends will betray him, and the room goes silent and confused. The disciples glance around at each other, searching faces, unsure who could possibly do such a thing. None of them wants to believe it's them, yet none can be certain it isn't. That moment of shared bewilderment captures something very human, the way we sometimes can't process shocking news right away and look to others hoping someone else understands what's happening.
