John 12:10

What does John 12:10 mean?
The religious leaders were so threatened by Lazarus that they wanted him dead. You see, Lazarus had been raised from the dead just days earlier, and his very existence was living proof that Jesus had power over death itself. That kind of evidence was dangerous to their authority and their carefully constructed arguments against Jesus. Rather than reckon with what had actually happened, they chose violence, which shows how far people will go to protect their power and control the narrative around what they believe.
