What does John 11:34 mean?
Jesus has just arrived in Bethany after his friend Lazarus died, and he's asking the people around him where Lazarus's body has been placed. Their simple response, "Lord, come and see," invites him to witness their grief firsthand. In that moment, Jesus doesn't stay distant or offer only words of comfort from afar, but he moves toward their pain and shows up physically to be present with them.
