Joel 3:21
βI will cleanse their blood, that I have not cleansed: for Yahweh dwells in Zion.ββ
What does Joel 3:21 mean?
God is promising to restore justice and dignity to His people after a time of suffering and injustice. The "blood" here represents the innocent lives that were shed unjustly, and cleansing it means He will vindicate those who were wronged and make things right. This is a declaration that God's presence returning to Zion (Jerusalem, the place of God's dwelling) will bring healing and restoration, not just for individuals but for the whole community. It's a powerful assurance that God doesn't forget the suffering of His people and that His justice is certain, even when earthly powers seem to have won.
