Job 8:2

What does Job 8:2 mean?
Bildad is frustrated with Job's complaints and suffering, and he's essentially asking his friend to stop talking. He's suggesting that Job's words are just empty noise, like wind that makes a lot of sound but accomplishes nothing real. In our own moments of pain, we've probably felt this kind of impatience from others, or maybe even felt it ourselves toward someone who keeps expressing their hurt. What's worth noticing here is that sometimes the people around us don't know how to sit with our struggle, and instead they try to shut it down or dismiss it as meaningless venting. Job's friends meant well, but they were more interested in defending their theology than in truly hearing him.
