What does Job 6:7 mean?
Job is describing the depth of his suffering by saying that even things meant to comfort him have become repulsive. Just before this, he mentions the food his friends offered, and here he's saying his pain is so severe that he can't receive comfort in any normal way, the way you might lose your appetite when you're devastated or sick. This speaks to a real human experience: sometimes when we're broken, the ordinary remedies don't work. We can't eat, can't rest, can't be soothed by small kindnesses because the wound is too deep. Job's honesty here, rather than pretending he feels better than he does, actually opens a door for genuine conversation about suffering instead of empty platitudes.
