“What is my strength, that I should wait? What is my end, that I should be patient?”
What does Job 6:11 mean?
Job is at the breaking point of his suffering. He's asking what possible reason he could have to hold on, since his body is failing and his future looks hopeless. The question isn't really seeking an answer, it's an expression of despair, a way of saying "I have no strength left and no hope to look toward." What makes this poignant is that Job isn't being rebellious or ungrateful in a typical sense, he's being brutally honest about what endurance looks like when you're exhausted.
