What does Job 41:27 mean?
This verse describes the legendary creature Leviathan as so incredibly powerful that materials we consider nearly indestructible are utterly worthless to it. Iron and brass represent the strongest tools and weapons humans can forge, yet the passage says Leviathan treats them like straw and decaying wood, which crumble at the slightest touch. The broader point Job's friend Elihu is making is that some forces in creation are so far beyond human strength and ingenuity that our best efforts to control or resist them are basically useless.
