What does Job 39:19 mean?

God is asking Job whether he created the horse's strength and commanding presence. These questions come near the end of God's response to Job's complaints, when God is essentially saying, "You didn't make the world or its creatures, so you're not the one who gets to understand why suffering happens." The image of the horse with its quivering mane is meant to inspire awe, not just describe an animal, it captures that moment when you see something wild and powerful and realize it exists completely outside your control. If Job didn't design something as magnificent as a horse, how could he possibly comprehend God's purposes in his own pain.
