Job 38:39
““Can you hunt the prey for the lioness, or satisfy the appetite of the young lions,”
What does Job 38:39 mean?
God asks Job whether he can do what comes naturally to lions, and the answer is obviously no. This question is part of God's sweeping response to Job's complaints, where God points to the wild world operating perfectly well without Job's understanding or control. The lioness hunts; her cubs are fed. Storms fall where they're needed. Stars stay in their courses. None of this requires Job to figure it out or make it happen. What God is really saying is that Job's suffering doesn't mean the world is broken or that God has abandoned his work, even when Job can't see the bigger picture himself.
