Job 38:25
“Who has cut a channel for the flood water, or the path for the thunderstorm;”
What does Job 38:25 mean?
God is asking Job a pointed question: Who designed the natural systems that water and storms follow? The answer, of course, is God himself. After Job has spent chapters wrestling with his suffering and demanding answers from God, the Lord responds not with explanations but with reminders of how vast and intricate creation is. This verse invites us to notice that even destructive forces like floods and storms operate within patterns and pathways. There's order even in chaos. If God has such care and knowledge over something as wild and dangerous as a thunderstorm, the underlying message is: can you trust that there is also purpose and wisdom in what you cannot yet understand about your own pain?
