What does Job 38:13 mean?
God is speaking here about the dawn, describing how daylight spreads across the earth like a hand reaching to grab its edges. The image shifts to something more dramatic: as light floods in, it exposes and removes wicked people from their hiding places, much like shaking a blanket would dislodge whatever clings to it. This comes near the end of Job's story, when God finally responds to Job's anguished questions about suffering.
