What does Job 37:11 mean?

When Elihu describes how God fills clouds with water and sends forth lightning, he's pointing to the ordinary miracle of weather itself. The image captures something we've all witnessed: dark, heavy clouds gathering before a storm, then splitting open with rain and electric light. For anyone feeling small or overwhelmed by life's storms, this verse reminds us that even these powerful, sometimes frightening natural forces are held and directed by God's hand. There's something stabilizing in recognizing that our circumstances, however turbulent they feel, are not outside his knowledge or care.
