Job 36:7
“He doesn’t withdraw his eyes from the righteous, but with kings on the throne, he sets them forever, and they are exalted.”
What does Job 36:7 mean?
When we're struggling, it's easy to feel unseen, as though God has turned away. But this verse promises that God keeps his attention fixed on those who try to follow him, never losing sight of them. The image of eyes that don't withdraw suggests constant, watchful care—like someone who refuses to look away from those they're committed to protecting. The second part uses the example of kings to show what this faithful attention produces: stability, honor, and lasting security. Elihu (who speaks these words to Job) is reminding his suffering friend that righteousness isn't rewarded with indifference but with God's steady gaze and genuine elevation. Even when circumstances feel small or insignificant, God sees you and has not abandoned his commitment to those who trust him.
