What does Job 36:4 mean?
Elihu is making a bold claim here, speaking directly to Job after Job has questioned God's justice. He's saying his own words are trustworthy and that he speaks with divine backing—that God himself, the one with perfect knowledge, stands behind what he's about to say. It's worth noting that Elihu represents one perspective in Job's suffering, and the book itself doesn't necessarily endorse everything he says, so his confidence shouldn't be taken as the final word on why suffering happens. What matters for us is the underlying truth: when we're confused or hurting, there is someone who knows the whole story, sees what we can't see, and understands perfectly why things unfold as they do, even when we're left with only questions.
